Just came back from a long holiday and thought of sharing this tasty , dum aloo recipe —
In winter season these baby potatoes are abundant in market and thought of making something different out of it —
Hope you will like it — try it for once and give me a feedback, if possible —
Ingredients:
- 500 gmss of boiled baby potato
- 1 sliced onion
- 2 tbsp of ginger and garluc julliene
- 1 medium sized tomato
- 1 cup of Dahi
- 2 tbsp of cream
- 1tsp of garam masala
- 1 tsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of cumin powder
- 2 tsp of coriander powder
- 1 tsp of saunf powder
- Salt to taste
- Required quantity of vegetable oil
Method :
Heat oil in a non-stick pan– fry the boiled potatoes till light brown and keep it aside.
Then remove some oil , keeping 1 tbsp of oil in a pan add sliced onion, ginger and garlic julliene — fry for 2 to 3 minutes , then add in cubed tomatoes , fry it for another 3 minutes. Take out this Masala and make a paste out of it when it comes to room temperature.
In a separate bowl mix in Dahi, cream, cumin, coriander, haldi , red chilli powder, saunf powder —
Now heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil , put some whole cumin, wait until it splutters and releases its aroma.
Add in the first Masala– saute it for 5 minutes — inbetween add little water at a time–
Then add in the curd mixture and saute it for 10 minutes or until Masala leaves oil
Add in the baby potatoes and some water.
Adjust seasoning —
Simmer it for further 15 minutes , till all the water dries out and the potatoes get well incorporated in the mixture.
Serve it hot Parathas or Puris , will definitely bring smile on your family members faces 😊
