Plum-Cake — It’s teatime now —

While during my everyday visit to the market — my eye’s got stuck to these little red riding hood’s —

They were as if inviting me with their red luscious colour — had to take them home with me —

Here now baking my favourite cake  — my first ever plum-cake —-

Star Ingredient :

Plum

Main Ingredients:

  •  150 gm of all-purpose flour
  • 250 gm of ripe plums
  • 100 gm of powdered sugar ( you can use 150 gm if you like it on the sweeter side)
  • 100 gm of Amul butter
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of curd
  • 5 tsp of vanilla essence
  • 4 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda

Method:

Dry mixture :

Sift the flour with the baking powder ,baking soda in a large bowl and keep it aside.

Wet mixture :

Take butter and powdered sugar in a large bowl  and give it a mix with an electric hand mixer — then add in the egg , together with vanilla essence ,vegetable oil,  ( here i have used vegetable oil to make the cake more fluffed)  and curd and give it a churn.

Add in the flour and continue mixing until everything get’s incorporated —

Put the mixture in a  buttered cake tin with a parchment paper on the bottom of it . Cut the plum in four quarters and then arrange them on top of the batter.

Preheat the oven to 220 degree centigrade —

Put the cake tin on to the oven and bake it  for 50 minutes or till the toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean —

Now after baking is done —- serve this easiest cake with tea  —

Happy cooking —- 🙂

I am wanting to make this – it looks DELICIOUS! However, I need some clarification – what is “Amul butter” and when you say “Curd” what exactly are we talking about… (Sorry if I sound ignorant!)… Thank you! Excited to try this!

Curd is nothing but yogurt — both are same — and thanks for stopping by — 🙂
